Lenora and David’s downtown Detroit wedding was the perfect day to kick off my 2022 wedding season! Between this sweet couple and one of the most fun receptions I’ve photographed, I couldn’t have asked for it to get any better!

Right before David and Lenora’s first look I asked David if he was nervous at all. His answer was probably one of the sweetest things I’ve had a groom tell me. I really wish I could remember verbatim what he said, but I’ll sum it up.

He said he was just excited to celebrate being married to the love of his life since they got legally married the day before at the courthouse Then he said there’s nothing to be nervous about anyway because “she’s it and I’ve known it for a while so I’m just excited to be married and spend life together.”

It’s the moments like these that make me love my job even more! They really take me out of the moment to step back and see the bigger picture that these are real couples in love and I get to capture moments from one of the best days of their lives!

The rest of David and Lenora’s downtown Detroit wedding was a blur in the best way possible. After their first look and some portraits, we headed to Detroit Vineyards. There was lots of amazing food, the biggest platter of sushi you’ve ever seen, and the dancing started as soon as David and Lenora came in the room!
