I love my career so much because of the amazing people I am able to meet through it. We photographers may not have “co-workers”, but we do get exposed to some amazing and talented people around the country. Let me tell you, Chrissy and her sweet family are a perfect example of this. Chrissy reached out to me after she saw I would be in Tampa, Florida last week! As soon as we started talking I was so beyond excited for this and to work with Chrissy, her husband Peter, and their sweet boy Peter (plus one on the way!) for this beach session!
Okay so, I just have to start by talking about little Peter. He was so sweet. I can already tell just from our short time together that he’s going to be one good brother to baby Noah (I mean just look at him!) Chrissy told me that they tried for 6 years for Peter. Now God has blessed them with another sweet baby. I could’t be happier for the Ruiz family!
I loved every minute with Chrissy! I’m honestly sad we live so far apart (Thank goodness for the Internet though am I right?!) Chrissy and Peter are two of the most genuine people I’ve ever worked with. Oh yeah- and did I mention that they woke before sunrise to drive 45 minutes so we could start at 7:30 AM!! I love them even more for that alone.
P.s. peep this next picture on the left. A bug kept flying in Peter’s nose. If you look closely you can see the face he’s making trying to get it out. I do have to mention though that he never broke the pose I put them in- again, talk about commitment! Being around these two made my heart so happy. I could genuinely see the love they shared and the joy within their sweet little growing family.
With everything that’s been going on lately, this family’s life (along with many others) has been a little crazy. Chrissy and I were texting today about school being closed and figuring everything out. I’d definitely use the words “super mom” in Chrissy’s case. Plus, they had to cancel their family trip to Disney world next week!! They told Peter that Mickey was sick which was just the sweetest yes saddest thing I think I’ve ever heard.
I think I can honestly say this has been one of my favorite sessions to date. Between a beautiful beach session, this dreamy sunrise light, Chrissy’s gorgeous dress and her sweet baby bump, this one is one for the books! Being able to document such a sweet season of life for this growing family makes my heart so beyond happy!
To Chrissy and your family, thank you! Thank you for trusting me to capture these special moments. For waking up before the sun and truly appreciating the beauty of a sunrise shoot. And for geeking out with me over our gear and lenses + providing me with a new photographer friend to grow with. Community is so important. I am so blessed to have been able to add you to mine and to be a part of yours. You guys are all too sweet.
P.s. If you’re ever in Michigan, don’t forget I’m here!
